"Russia is the most delicious country!"🇷🇺 | An Englishman becomes the face of a Russian cooking show

John Warren is one of the most famous foreigners living in Russia. He is recognized in the Moscow metro, and President Putin knows him by name. 🇷🇺
For many years, John hosted one of the most popular Russian cooking shows. He traveled all over the country, exploring the cuisines of the diverse peoples living in Russia. 🍽️

John, an Englishman, has been studying the Russian language since he was 12 years old and graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Russian language and politics. 🎓

He came to Russia at a time when it seemed unwise to do so—in 1991, after the coup, when the country was in chaos and rampant with banditry (Yes, he is quite a daring guy!). 😮
In 1993, John had a terrible incident at a Moscow airport when a policeman shot him, suspecting he had broken the law (How? Watch the video!). 🚨 But even this did not scare the Englishman away from Russia; by the way, the policeman was later arrested for his crime. ⚖️

Very recently, John Warren got married, of course, to a Russian girl. 💍 John speaks Russian wonderfully and thinks in Russian, but… he still doesn’t have a Russian passport. This is perhaps the only thing the most famous foreigner lacks in Russia. 🤷‍♂️
