Newly Elected Hamilton County GOP Chair Addresses Concerns At Local Pachyderm Meeting

Newly elected Hamilton County GOP Chair, Gail Greene, addressed concerns at a recent Hamilton County Pachyderm Club Meeting.

Greene, a homeschool mom, foster parent, legislative advocate, citizen lobbyist, and now leader of the local Republican Party outlined the goals for the group which include calls to action regarding legislation that Republican lawmakers are running, so as to hold them accountable.

Emphasizing conservative values, Greene also stated that election integrity was important and supports legislation that would do away with crossover voting in primaries.

Longtime members of the club are concerned that the party’s recent stances on current legislation advancing in the General Assembly may violate the party’s bylaws.

Senator Todd Gardenhire recently threatened the local GOP’s charter for taking legislative stances for and against bills.

While the bylaws state that the party must promote all elected Republican officials, Greene said that the party has not violated any bylaws, nor does Gardenhire have the power to revoke their charter.

Older members of the club are seemingly at odds with newer members who supported Greene’s Activate Hamilton slate of candidates in their recent election but Greene offered reassurance that it’s okay to have disagreements.

Ultimately, Greene understands that the local party ought to represent the majority of its members.
