Stephen M. Vantassel, host of the Wildlife Control Consultant podcast, raises the question of the safer use of fumigants employed to control ground squirrels, prairie dogs, pocket gophers, wood chucks, and other rodents. The question is how should applicators position themselves in relation to wind direction? Should you have your back to the wind or should you be perpendicular to the wind? Stephen discusses the eddy-effect in relationship to applications made with one's back to the wind and how such a position may expose users to toxic gases. He asks the audience to consider the role of wind and asks for additional research to fully and conclusively answer this question.
