The phenominal rise of teh Super Pirstes in Dublin, which commenecd at the end of the70s in 1979, with Sunshine Radio, followed soon after in 1981, with Radio Nova, became a huge success in 1982. Hiowver this threat to what was the utterly dull IBA stations in Britain, with radio Nova soon to put a 50KW into operation , was too much, so the Raids in May 1983 were a badly under estimated on Irelands Youth, who by far preferred this bright new radio stations,. On 18th May, radio Nova was ripped off air, followed on the 19th by Sunshine Radio
This is the aftermath of those raids. Explained by those involved, inside the stations.
