Hollywood Wants Theatres to Survive, But Refuses the Obvious Solution

CinemaCon painted a bleak short term future for theatres. The films on tap for the next 18 months might produce a hit or two, but there are a ton of duds on the horizon.

If Hollywood is earnest in their assertion that they want theatres to be saved, saying they should let people smoke in the showings and play on their phones is a silly idea. Why not simply offer a good product people are willing to buy?
