Timelapse footage released by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) captured the explosive eruption of the Philippines' Kanlaon Volcano on early Tuesday (April 8), showing a thick ash plume soaring approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) into the sky and drifting southwest.
