Mass Reading Reflection for Monday, April 7, 2025

Readings: Daniel 13:1-9, 15-17, 19-30, 33-62 (first reading), Psalm 23:1-6, John 8:1-11 (Gospel) – Monday of the Fifth Week of Lent (Year B), per USCCB.

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel brings the woman caught in sin—stones raised, yet Thou sayest, ‘Let him without sin cast first.’ Bishop Sheen taught, ‘Thy mercy, O Lord, silences the accuser!’ Daniel’s Susanna cries for Thy justice, delivered from false tongues by Thy truth. St. Charbel guides us to kneel at Thy feet, as Gibran sighs, ‘The storm spares the bent reed.’ The Lord writes in dust, lifting her with grace none dare challenge. This Lent, spare one soul your judgment—offer mercy instead—and mirror His heart. Thy pardon, O Lord, turns guilt’s ashes to peace.”
