PICKY, PICKY EATERS OF THE WEST
People in the West are remarkably picky eaters.

#1. When I lived in India, I enjoyed honey grasshoppers, curry snake meat, and other exotic dishes. I am amazed at the variety of cuisine readily available. I love curry chicken.

#2. Indians eat these things because they like them.

#3. In North Korea I enjoyed dog. Yes, the very thought repulses most westerners, especially Americans with their unnatural and ongoing love affair with dogs.

#4. But I liked what I ate so sufficient as to ask for ‘seconds’. They also eat a powerful fermented cabbage. With a spot of sugar, it’s pretty darned good.

#5. While living in China I enjoyed many and varied cuisines.

#6. There is really no such thing as ‘Chinese Food’ as there is no such thing as ‘American Food’.

#7. Both countries are large with various sub cultures. They have developed their own culinary tastes and habits.

#8. China, with over 1.2 Bn people, is where I have eaten bat, snake, tiger, pangolin, lizard, and a variety of eclectic dishes. Yummy.

#9. By and large, Americans aren’t ‘adventurous eaters’. Simply say ‘it suits me’ and they will be okay. I am one of those. I’ve eaten everything from robin’s eggs to whale meat. But my favorite is a well built hamburger. Call me a westerner.
