The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Part Ten
Geralt awoke in Philippa Eilhart’s quarters with no time to spare. King Henselt’s army was at the gates of Vergen. With few allies and Saskia gravely ill, the battle for Upper Aedirn began. Geralt and Zoltan defended the town with fire, steel, and boiling oil, but sorcerer Dethmold shattered the barricades with devastating magic, forcing a retreat.
As the Kaedweni army pressed on, Geralt and Saskia uncovered a secret passage and found enemy forces waiting within, led by Dethmold himself. In the confrontation, Dethmold struck Geralt down with a powerful spell, nearly killing him... until Saskia revealed her true form: a dragon. She saved Geralt, but her secret changed everything.
Back on the front lines, Vergen stood on the brink of collapse until Iorveth returned with reinforcements. In a bold counterattack, Geralt and Zoltan closed the gates, trapping the Kaedweni soldiers and forcing Henselt to surrender, ending the war for Upper Aedirn.
But the victory was short-lived. Philippa and Saskia vanished through a portal, and a search of Philippa’s quarters revealed a disturbing truth: Philippa had poisoned Saskia, not to harm her but to control her mind. The Dragonslayer had become a puppet, and Geralt, along with Iorveth, vowed to free her.
Meanwhile, the figurine that imprisoned Triss Merigold was finally restored, bringing her back to life just as Geralt and Iorveth pursued the sorceresses to Loc Muinne, the ancient elven city and final battleground for the tangled conspiracy surrounding the assassins of kings.
Geralt’s journey is reaching its conclusion but betrayal, truth, and fate still await him in Loc Muinne…
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Polish: Wiedźmin 2: Zabójcy Królów) is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels. Released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, OS X, and Linux, the game immerses players in a richly detailed world inspired by Polish history and Slavic mythology. By September 2014, it had sold over 8 million copies, cementing its status as both a critical and commercial success. The series' acclaim continued with the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in May 2015.
