(Understanding Why People Stumble at Basic Truths)
Text: 1 John 1:6-7, Proverbs 20:20

Objective: that the brethren be able to understand the difficulties people encounter when trying to do God’s will and help them out.
Intro:
Define – dark/ness, blind, light, path, stumble/ing, understand/ing, true/ths
Verses – understand dark/light biblical illustration
Proverbs 20:20 – mother/father – also legitimate authorities

The Difficulties in walking dark paths, and how to help people navigate it?
1) Progress is Slow and Hard, or even Unlikely - Deut. 28:29a
a) Grope - Search blindly or uncertainly
b) “not prosper” – useless efforts
2) Easily Targeted by Enemies - Deut. 28:29b, Jeremiah 23:12
3) Slippery – huge possibility to slip - Psalms 35:6, Jeremiah 23:12
4) Disoriented - Psalms 82:5 – “out of course”, Mat 15:14 – “fall into the ditch”
5) No Knowledge of Danger, Enemy or Basic truths/ground - Prov. 4:19, Jn. 11:10
6) No Easy and Clear Judgment/Awareness - Isaiah 59:9
7) Distressful – concerning/troublesome - Zep 1:17
Solution: The Light, Jesus, bible, truth, clarity
Isaiah 29:18 – “shall see”; Isaiah 58:10 - “thy light rise”
1Jn 1:6-7 – “cleanseth from all sin”

Message/conclusion:
Let us understand the difficulties people encounter when trying to do God’s will and help them out, that the unsaved be saved, and the saved to do God’s will better and with excellence.
