Lets Prepare Red Lentils Soup
Let's prepare a delicious Red
Lentils Soup!
You'll need:
• ½ cup of rice (basmati or round rice work
well)
• ¾ cup of red lentils
• 1 onion
• Fresh cilantro and parley
• A tiny piece of jalapeño
• Salt or soley salt solution
• Spices: 1 teaspoon ground cumin + 1 tablespoon a Yemenite spice called Hawaij (found in most Middle Eastern or health food stores)
Olive oil
Pro tip: Soak your lentils and rice before cooking-this helps with digestion and makes everything cook more smoothly!
Once everything is in the pot, bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for about 45 minutes. Important from time to time mix the soup to prevent from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
