"Cabin Fever" was the first country band I was in when I first moved to Alaska in 2000.

It was actually the first ever country band I was ever in. I've been in mostly heavy metal bands, but it was a change. The guys were great! I can't remember how we got together. I think it was from one of the guys at the mine that told me about them. They needed a bass player, and I was bored out the a$$ so perfect. I got hold of them, and they asked me how much country music I had played. I said none. They said "We're practicing this Wednesday do you want to come and set in". I said sure.

Well that Wednesday was the first time I ever played country, and I was shoved onto the stage the next Friday. Mind you we had 4 sets of 5 songs that I needed to learn in two days. Heck, I knew all three notes so no problem. After playing with them for about three months the lead player (the guy to my right) got sent to Japan because he was a GI. Soooo poof, just as fast as we got together it ended.

Several years later I was in another kinda country band called "Break Away".
