The Gospel of Luke 24

The resurrection of Christ. He appears to two disciples on the way to Emmaus. And makes himself known to them. Christ appears to the other disciples. His ascension.

⁴⁵Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, ⁴⁶And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
⁴⁷And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
⁴⁶You are witnesses of these things. ⁴²And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high.”
⁵⁰When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. (NIV)
