Jew First

The message presented on April 6, 2025 was entitled “Jew First” and it was an excellent deposition on how the Jews had precedence during the Gospel’s thru the Acts period. When you look at Romans 1:16 “16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” most Christians follow along up until the semi-colon, then Paul opens up a can of worms when he expresses to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Why would he point this out? Well, in the Gospels and trough the book of Acts, the Jew did have priority. In Romans 3:1-2 KJV Paul asks “1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? 2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.” Romans does an excellent job explaining how salvation is available to both Jew and Gentile alike but Israel had the advantage! We were reminded of Psalm 147:19-20 KJV “19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.1 20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.” Romans 9 and Acts 17:30 KJV referred to it as a time of ignorance. “17 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:”. God’s truth is progressive. That is why right division is so important so that you study context to understand who it is written to so you wont apply to you what is not meant for you. In Ephesians, after Acts 28, PAul then explains in Ephesian 2:13-15 KJV “13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;” We are now one new man, neither Jew or Greek. God created a new man in Christ. That is or ministry and that is what we are called to make all men see! Ephesians 3:9-11 KJV says “9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:”. Our calling is “The Mystery”. PAul the prisoner was given a special revelation that was hidden in God before the foundation of the world!!

The scripture reading was from Romans 9:1-5 KJV “1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.”
