Instead of highlighting the growing mountain of evidence that these drugs often do more harm than good, the nurses give close scrutiny to the very evidence base most often used to support their use: UpToDate, a resource for doctors to guide their clinical practice, including when starting people on psych meds.

It’s not the role or responsibility of the nurses to convince you that any medication is “safe and effective.” Researchers and regulators have a responsibility to demonstrate that they have done their due diligence in a robust and transparent way to assess a product’s safety and efficacy.
