The professional super pirates in Dublin, during this explosive brilliant era of broadcasting, where creativity thrived, was met by a major political miscalculation. These extremely popular new bright and progressive stations, Sunshine, Nova and Kiss-FM were a huge new wave for the Young Irish. Takening them off air, brutally, was a huge vote disaster for the stagnant political scene in the Republic.

The Irish Era of Pirate Radio is a series shot by Miles Johnston, as these radio stations evolved. Shot on VHS, its what we had then.

Anyone who wishes to shoot a film featuring this era please do contact me.
