RUFFINI: “Brandon Politico reported this week that Musk is going to be leaving his role with doge soon. You know, he’s got this special government employee status. It does expire in late may. Jd Vance said Musk will still be a, quote, friend and advisor to the administration. But look, there’s been a lot of criticism that his that the influence of this non-elected official has had an outsized effect on policy. You saw it there in the protest. Will that go anywhere when he leaves this job, or is it going to be even harder to figure out what influence he’s having over the administration?”

BUCK: “Well, I think they built structures where doge is going to stay in. Place. And I imagine they’re going to continue to make cuts. And fire people. I mean. That part of it, I. think a. Lot of. Republicans in Congress. At least, are. Very comfortable with. The thing that they’re saying privately, and not a lot of them on the record, is that Elon Musk is extremely unpopular, and I think a lot of them will be happy to see him go. He was. Unpopular before. All of. Doge started, and now he’s extremely unpopular. But the reason they can’t. just shove him out and say things. Publicly is his money. I think this is an underappreciated dynamic. Every single Republican in Congress. Is terrified of Elon Musk dropping $3 million in their district in a primary to take him out. Donald Trump is relying heavily on Elon Musk’s money for his political operation, and this is how they intend to pass. Their. Legislative agenda, basically with threats. Of. Coming in and primarying people. So they’re happy to see him go. They just need to be. Very delicate about. Doing it so that they’ll keep having access. To his enormous. Fortune and the way that helps them win elections.”
