Fifteen humanitarian workers were killed in Rafah while aiding casualties, their funerals attended by grieving colleagues and families. The Palestine Red Crescent buried eight paramedics, five civil defence workers and a UN staff member, condemning Israel’s repeated targeting of medics. One paramedic remains missing as searches continue. A mourning mother recalled her son’s dedication days after he became a father, his funeral held alongside other fallen medics. The UN reiterated that attacking medical personnel violates international law. In Gaza, even funerals for healers are not safe from violence. Yet emergency workers persist, their resolve undiminished by relentless danger.
