Stretched out our hands to a strange god...

Just two generations after Joshua died, the Israelites not only forsook the LORD, but they also did not know Him and had forgotten His works for them. They chose to follow the gods of the nations around them, bowing down to them and serving these idols. The idols of today are wicked and evil. They are not named Baal or Molech, but these idols demand the same. These idols are celebrity, politics, power, unaccountability, and money. People want to follow them. People want to possess them. People will do most anything they can to attain them.
