She pointed to the historical pretext: "They say, ‘Oh, we’ve had so many wars here, we need to unite as Europe to stop it.’ That’s true enough, but it’s a convenient excuse. The EU institutions are steadily absorbing more power, conditioning Europeans to accept the next leap—a full global government."
