🔵 About Mudvayne - Dig - Bass Cover
A lot of people don't seem all that high on Ryan's current tone after switching from Warwick to Fodera... but he's also switched from Warwick amplification to Dark Glass. Using a Fodera is the closest I've gotten to matching the album tone for this song and that's after attempting many times using two different Warwick basses. I initially attempted this cover with the song transposed to standard 6 string bass tuning, but it sounded too muddy in the lows whilst being too tinny in the highs. I then dropped the middle 4 strings down to BF♯BE, ignoring the low B (which is exact how Ryan plays it) as well as the high C. The neck pickup was completely off, chorus pedal on, straight into an Ampeg 7 pro and out into my DI.

🔵 About Mudvayne Dig
Dig is a song by American heavy metal band Mudvayne, released in 2000 as the band's debut single. It appears on the band's debut studio album L.D. 50 (2000). A music video was released for the song on April 10, 2001, and it later won the first ever MTV2 Award. It is also one of the band's most well-known songs, being certified gold in the United States. A live version of the song taken from the Tattoo the Earth tour appears on the live album Tattoo the Earth: The First Crusade. The song also appeared on the compilation album WWF Tough Enough. The song has also spawned an Internet meme known as "Brbr Deng" (the onomatopoeia of the opening bass riff), which bassist Ryan Martinie has expressed some ambivalence about.
