More than 10 Chinese military ships approached close to Taiwan's 24 nautical miles contiguous zone on April 1. Taiwan sent its warships to respond. Taiwan dispatched aircraft and ships and deployed land-based missile systems. Taiwan has not yet detected any live fire by the Chinese military. This comes as China's military said it had begun joint army, navy, and rocket force exercises around Taiwan.
