Jaguar Land Rover to ‘pause’ US shipments over U.S. tariffs

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced a temporary pause in shipments to the US due to the 25% tariff on foreign cars imposed by President Trump.

The company, which exported around 38,000 cars to the US in Q3 2024, is working to adjust to the new trading terms.

JLR reassured customers of its resilience and emphasized its focus on global operations and addressing these changes.

The tariffs, which came into effect on Saturday, have impacted global trade, with UK car exports to the US worth £8.3bn in 2024, Sky News has reported.

The tariffs have raised concerns about potential job losses in the UK’s car manufacturing sector.
