Mass Reading Reflection for Saturday, April 5, 2025
Fourth Week of Lent (Year B) are Jeremiah 11:18-20 (first reading), Psalm 7:2-3, 9bc-12, and John 7:40-53 (Gospel)

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel stirs division—some hail Thee as Prophet, others plot Thy doom. Bishop Sheen declared, ‘Thou, O Lord, art the stone that splits the world!’ Jeremiah laments the lamb led to slaughter, yet trusts Thy righteous gaze. St. Charbel guides us to rest in Thee amid strife, as Gibran whispers, ‘The river cuts the rock to sing its song.’ The Lord’s hour nears, misunderstood by those who judge by flesh. This Lent, stand silent once today—let His truth speak—and bear His witness. Thy justice, O Lord, shines through the din of men.”
