TOPIC: ACCESSING THE BLESSING THROUGH
UPRIGHTNESS

SCRIPTURE: By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 11:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If we must access the
blessing of Abraham, we must also desire the
uprightness of Abraham.

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that by the
blessing of the upright, a city is exalted, but it is
overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
This implies that there is a blessing allocation for
the righteous.

Psalm 24:3-5 says,
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who
shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean
hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and
righteousness from the God of his salvation.
The person who has clean hands and a pure heart shall receive the blessing from the Lord. But if a person is deceitful, if his hands are not clean, and if his heart is not pure, he cannot receive the blessing from the Lord. He cannot receive righteousness from the God of Jacob.
Godliness or godly character is a magnet of the
blessing of God, but ungodliness is a killer of the
blessing of God. Abraham was someone who lived in uprightness and walked in godly character.

Genesis14:22 says,
And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
Abraham decided never to take what was not his.
This is a character of godliness. A godly person
does not take what is not his. Abraham had
financial integrity, and his integrity was key to his
blessing.

We always sing a song, “Abraham's blessings are mine 2x
I am blessed in the Morning and blessed in the
evening, Abraham’s Blessings are mine...”
But we have never asked for the uprightness of
Abraham. The truth is, if we must access the
blessing of Abraham, we must also desire the
uprightness of Abraham.

Remember this: If we must access the blessing of Abraham, we must also desire the uprightness of Abraham.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to be upright like Abraham
did.
2. Stay away from every form of sin and guilt so
you can access the blessing of the Lord.

PRAYER: Father, I ask for the grace to live an
upright life. Deliver me from every form of sin and
guilt Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
