Words are Powerful
Words are so powerful. Yes, it is true that the pen is more powerful than the sword. Words can be used for good or evil. If parents tell their children that they are lazy and won't amount to anything, they are implanting inferiority into their systems and is making them who they are. Words used to relentlessly criticize children are so harmful, they have a negative effect on them throughout their lives.
On the other hand, using uplifting words when talking to children has a positive effect on them throughout their lives. Children should be told they are a magnificent masterpiece of God just for being who they are in the present moment. They don't have to accomplish anything or do anything special, they are a gift from God for just bring.
We can speak positive words to ourselves as well. Speak to what we want as if we already have it, such as I am strong, I am healthy, I am loved. I am wealthy and so many more uplifting statements.
Words can change a life for the better or worse. Please realize how words so affect children. DO NOT cut children down in hopes it will make them stronger. Just the opposite will happen.
