NAACP challenge: John Kiriakou of The Whistleblowers
In today’s world, some names and titles no longer fit, and Delia Gray, a Texas-based community activist, is leading the charge to address this issue. Her current focus is on updating the outdated name of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). While the NAACP has been a pivotal force in advancing civil rights, racial equality, and equal opportunity in the US, its name is seen by many as outdated and offensive. Delia Gray is dedicated to changing it and bringing the organization’s name into alignment with contemporary values. She joins John Kiriakou on this episode of The Whistleblowers to talk about her case.

In The Whistleblowers, former CIA agent John Kiriakou brings you some of the bravest men and women fighting for justice. John himself knows what it’s like, having blown the whistle on CIA torture, paying the price with years in prison, and lawsuit upon lawsuit. On The Whistleblowers, John Kiriakou sings the praises and brings to light the people we rely on to keep our government and institutions in check.

John Kiriakou has a great conversation with Bill Benny.
The Pentagon Inspector General reports him to the FBI and says, we think you have a spy on your hands. Oh my God. And all of the evidence that he brought out of this crime being committed at NSA, the Pentagon Inspector General, turned over to the FBI rather than to keep it secret like you're supposed to. Whoa. Well, when he didn't get any satisfaction there, he did exactly what you're supposed to do. And he went to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Diane Rourke was the officer there. And he said, A major crime is being committed against the American people at NSA. Here's the evidence.

They arrested everybody. They arrested Bill Benny. Bill Benny, who lost both of his legs to a flesh eating bacteria is in the shower on a shower chair. And the FBI pulls him outta the shower naked with no legs and cuffs him behind his back. How's that for a class act? They arrest Kirk Weeby. They arrest Ed Loomis. They arrest tore Diane Rourke. They didn't arrest, but she ended up being forced outta the Intelligence Committee and she moved back to Oregon.
