Mass Reading Reflection for Friday, April 4, 2025
Fourth Week of Lent (Year B) are Wisdom 2:1a, 12-22 (first reading), Psalm 34:17-21, 23, and John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30 (Gospel)

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel reveals Thy hour not yet come, though the crowd seeks to seize Thee. Bishop Sheen warned, ‘The world hates Thee, O Lord, for Thou art its judge.’ Wisdom foretells the wicked plotting against the just, blind to Thy hidden glory. St. Charbel guides us to stand with Thee in scorn, as Gibran murmurs, ‘The storm lashes the tree that bears fruit.’ The Lord saith, ‘You know Me not, nor whence I come’—His mystery veils His might. This Lent, bear one slight today—mockery or toil—for love of Him. Your patience, O Lord, crowns Thy Cross with triumph.”
