Ahoy, adventurers! It’s DrShiftsAlot from ShiftHappensWoW, your clumsy level 22 druid who’s more likely to roar at a cannon than an actual pirate! Welcome to my Deadmines (DM) walkthrough in WoW Classic—a level 18-23 dungeon in Westfall that’s crawling with angry pirates, sneaky goblins, and way too many things to trip over! I’m tackling “The Defias Brotherhood,” but these pirates have a ‘No Druids’ sign, and I’m pretty sure they want me for dinner! Follow along with this step-by-step guide—I’m a total noob, so expect plenty of shapeshifting fails, pirate-induced panic attacks, and me sneezing my way through this dusty dungeon! Let’s dive in, and maybe you’ll learn what not to do from my chaotic pirate adventure!
Step 1: Quest Pickup - Sneaking Through Alliance Territory!
Preparation: You’ll need a group—1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS. I’m a level 22 druid, so I’m in the right range, but I’m still shaking in my bear paws! The Deadmines is in Westfall, an Alliance zone, so Horde players like me need to be sneaky—Alliance guards are everywhere, and they don’t like druids!

Orgrimmar (Cleft of Shadow): Head to the southwest part of Orgrimmar—it’s the shadowy area with rogue trainers, red rock walls, and glowing braziers that I got distracted by. Find Shenthul—he’s a troll in rogue gear, looking all sneaky. He gives "The Defias Brotherhood": kill Edwin VanCleef at the end of the dungeon. I almost forgot to grab this quest because I was staring at a brazier like a moth—don’t be me!

Westfall (Sentinel Hill): If you’re Alliance, go to Sentinel Hill in central Westfall (coords ~56, 47). Gryan Stoutmantle—he’s a human in plate armor, standing near the watchtower—gives the same quest. I had to sneak past him as a Horde druid, and I almost got caught when I accidentally shifted to bear form and roared—oops! Pro tip: use cat form to prowl through Alliance territory, or you’ll end up running from farmers like I did!

Step 2: Entering The Deadmines - Pirates Already Hate Me!
Location: The Deadmines entrance is in Moonbrook, western Westfall (coords ~42, 71). It’s a ruined town with a big cave mouth and a glowing purple portal—hard to miss, unless you’re me! I got lost in Westfall for 15 minutes because I kept running from Alliance farmers who thought I was stealing their crops! Horde players: travel from the Barrens to Westfall via the Great Sea—swim or take a boat from Ratchet to Booty Bay, then head north. Sneak through Alliance territory—I prowled in cat form, but a chicken chased me, and I screamed the whole way!

Action: Form your group—tank, healer, three DPS—and step through the purple portal. The dungeon is a maze of tunnels, and it smells like dust and pirate sweat—gross! There’s a Defias Pirate at the entrance holding a ‘No Druids’ sign, and he glared at me like I stole his rum! I hid behind my tank, whispering, “He’s onto me!” I’m already sneezing from the dust, and we haven’t even started fighting—let’s do this!

Step 3: Mines and Goblins - Don’t Get Run Over by Carts!
Objective: Clear the initial tunnels to reach the first boss.

Enemies: You’ll face Defias Miners (human pirates with pickaxes) and Goblin Crafts (goblins with wrenches). They patrol in packs of 2-3, so don’t pull too many at once—I learned that the hard way when I accidentally aggroed three packs while sneezing my head off!

Action:
Have your tank pull 2-3 mobs at a time. Focus on the Defias Miners first—they swing their pickaxes for 30-50 damage and go down faster. The Goblin Crafts throw wrenches for 20-40 damage—less painful, but those little gremlins are sneaky! I got spooked by a mining cart rolling at me—I thought it was a pirate and shifted to bear form to roar at it! Total noob move—I’m such a mess!

Watch your positioning—there’s plenty of room to move, but don’t back into another pack like I did. I almost wiped us because I was too busy running from that cart, yelling, “It’s gonna get me!” Clear the mines to move on to the forge, and try not to sneeze too much—this place is dustier than my druid den!

Step 4: Rhahk’Zor - Don’t Get Smashed by the Big Ogre!
Location: Head to the forge (first boss area on the map). It’s a wide room with a glowing forge, anvils, and molten metal pools—looks like a pirate blacksmith shop, but way too hot for a druid like me!

Objective: Kill Rhahk’Zor.

Enemies: Rhahk’Zor (level 20) is a massive ogre with a two-handed hammer, flanked by 2 Defias Overseers (human pirates with whips).

Action:
Clear the trash mobs in the area—more Miners and Goblins. I got spooked by a sparking anvil and freaked out, thinking it was going to explode—I swung my staff at it and missed, of course, because I’m a disaster!

Tank the Overseers first—they whip for 30-50 damage and can overwhelm your healer if you leave them up too long. Kill them quick, then focus on Rhahk’Zor. He swings his hammer for 50-70 damage and uses Rhahk’Zor Slam (a red shockwave) for 40-60 damage—ow! Tank him facing away from the group, and make sure everyone avoids the slam—I didn’t, and I got knocked back into a wall! I’m in bear form, clawing away—he’s down! I tried to pick up his hammer—way too heavy, and I fell on my butt, yelling, “I’m not an ogre!” Move on to the mast room, and don’t touch the loot unless you want to look as silly as I did!

Step 5: Sneed’s Shredder - Spinning Blades and Goblin Chaos!
Location: Move to the mast room (middle area on the map). It’s a large room with wooden scaffolding, sawblades on the floor, and a giant mast under construction—pirates are building a ship in here, and it’s a mess!

Objective: Kill Sneed’s Shredder and Sneed.

Enemies: Sneed’s Shredder (level 20) is a goblin mech with spinning blades, piloted by Sneed (a goblin with goggles).

Action:
Clear any trash mobs in the room—more Miners and Goblins. I got spooked by a sawblade rolling across the floor—I thought it was coming for me, so I shifted to bear form and roared at it! I’m such a noob—my party laughed at me the whole time!

Tank the shredder—it spins its blades for 40-60 damage, ouch! It also uses Dismount, making Sneed jump out—he deals 30-50 damage with his attacks. Kill the shredder first, then focus on Sneed. I’m pouncing in cat form—got them both after a wild fight! I tried to pick up Sneed’s wrench—big mistake, it zapped me, and I yelped, “Ow!” while shaking my hand like a fool! I’m sticking to claws from now on—move on to the foundry, and watch out for those sawblades!

Step 6: Gilnid - Don’t Get Burned by Molten Metal!
Location: Head to the foundry (upper area on the map). It’s a fiery room with molten metal vats, conveyor belts, and glowing orange forges—it’s so hot in here, I’m sweating through my fur!

Objective: Kill Gilnid.

Enemies: Gilnid (level 20) is a goblin with a welding mask and hammer, flanked by 2 Defias Blackguards (human pirates with swords).

Action:
Clear the trash mobs in the foundry—more Goblins and some Defias Watchmen (40-60 damage). I got freaked out by a conveyor belt moving a molten vat—I thought it was going to melt me, so I pounced on it, missed, and got sparks all over me! I’m a mess—my party couldn’t stop laughing!

Tank the Blackguards first—they swing swords for 30-50 damage. Kill them quick, then focus on Gilnid. He casts Molten Metal (an orange splash) for 40-60 damage—dodge it, or it’ll burn like crazy! Tank him, DPS him down. I’m clawing in bear form—got him! I tried to pick up his hammer—huge mistake, it burned my hand, and I started hopping around yelling, “Hot, hot, hot!” Head to the ship for the final boss, and maybe bring some ice for my paws!

Step 7: Edwin VanCleef - Final Boss, Total Pirate Panic!
Location: The ship (final area on the map)—a massive pirate ship under construction, with wooden planks, cannons, and a glowing purple mast. It’s huge, and there are cannons everywhere—I’m already panicking!

Objective: Kill Edwin VanCleef for "The Defias Brotherhood".

Enemies: Edwin VanCleef (level 20) is a human rogue with a red bandana and dual swords, guarded by 2 Defias Pirates.

Action:
Clear any trash mobs on the way to the ship—more Watchmen and Blackguards. I got spooked by a cannon firing a warning shot—I thought they were shooting at me, so I shifted to bear form and roared at it! I’m hopeless—my party was in stitches!

Tank the 2 Defias Pirates first—they deal 40-60 damage with their swords. Kill them quick, then focus on VanCleef. He uses Eviscerate for 60-80 damage—ow!—and summons 2 more Pirates mid-fight. Focus VanCleef, but kill the adds if they overwhelm your healer—I almost forgot, and we nearly wiped because I was too busy sneezing! I’m pouncing in cat form—got him after a tense fight! He drops his head for the quest—gross! I picked it up, sneezed like crazy, and dropped it—achoo! "The Defias Brotherhood" is complete—time to get out of here!

Step 8: Quest Turn-In - Escape Before They Make Me Walk the Plank!
Exit: Hearthstone or run back to the entrance—don’t get lost on the way out like I did! I ran in circles twice because I kept jumping at shadows and cannons—pirates are scary! Horde players: sneak back through Westfall to avoid Alliance guards—I got chased by a farmer again, and I’m pretty sure he wanted to turn me into stew!

Turn-Ins:
Orgrimmar: Shenthul in the Cleft of Shadow—"The Defias Brotherhood" (some gold, XP, and a nice reward—I got a dagger, but I’m sticking to claws after all those fails!).

Sentinel Hill: If you’re Alliance, Gryan Stoutmantle—same quest, same rewards. I didn’t turn it in there because, you know, Horde druid problems!

Funny Tips from a Newbie Druid
Watch for Random Scares: This dungeon is full of terrifying stuff—rolling carts, sparking anvils, moving vats, firing cannons! I jumped at everything and shifted into the wrong form every time—don’t be me, or you’ll end up roaring at a cart like a fool!

Dodge the Big Hits: Rhahk’Zor’s slam, Gilnid’s molten metal, VanCleef’s Eviscerate—dodge them, or you’ll take a beating! I forgot once, and we almost wiped because I was too busy sneezing my head off—achoo!

Don’t Touch the Loot: I tried to pick up Rhahk’Zor’s hammer, Sneed’s wrench, and Gilnid’s hammer—too heavy, zapped, and burned! Stick to what you know, or you’ll end up like me—hopping around yelling, “Hot, hot, hot!” with burned paws!

Stay Close to Your Tank: This place is a maze, and I got lost so many times because I was too busy running from cannons and sneezing! Stick with your group, or you’ll be a druid snack for the pirates—I almost was!

That’s it for The Deadmines! Watch my video for all the pirate fails, and let me know how you did—I need to know I’m not the only one who roars at cannons!
