Four hundred years ago, vampires fled Europe and settled in Indochina, only to be hunted down until few remained. To survive undetected, the remaining vampires created a strict law: “Kill no humans unless they know.” In present-day Saigon, NHAT, a young vampire, lives among the Daydreamers, a secluded community that believes suppressing their thirst for human blood may one day restore their humanity. But when his long-lost brother, MARCO, returns with tales of vampires thriving among humans, Nhat is tempted by a freer existence. He breaks his mother’s dying promise and follows Marco into the glamorous nightlife of Saigon, where he meets HA, a rebellious schoolgirl who stumbles upon his secret-- defying the vampire law. Nhat develops a connection, thus chooses to protect her. But their escape is complicated by TRIEU, Marco’s ruthless vampire queen, who orders their execution. As chaos erupts—the Daydreamers exposed, the city turning against them—Nhat and Marco face off in a final, heartbreaking battle. One brother embraces the monster within, while the other fights to hold on to his last shred of humanity.
