Snow White, Rachel Zegler, the End of Woke, and the Blame Game

My feed is filled with people celebrating the failure of Disney’s live action remake of Snow White.

I gotta be honest, I’m glad, too.

When The Jungle Book first hit, my daughter (then 7) and I sat down to give it a watch.

I was hating it, and exceedingly thankful when, 20 minutes in, she said, “Can we watch something else?”

I’d heard such good things!

It made almost a billion dollars!

And it was horrible.

Likewise Beauty and the Beast; I made it about 10 minutes, give or take.

Aladdin was meh at best, and there was no way I was going to watch The Little Mermaid, given the fact they took a perfectly fine, compact 83 minute movie and turned it into an over 2-hour slog.

So, when Snow White was announced, I wasn’t interested.

Disney had a proven record of turning an animated classic into an unwatchable mess, so why would this one be any different?

This means I was completely unmoved by Rachel Zegler crapping all over the original, animated movie.

In fact, I couldn’t understand why anyone was upset with her.

Disney was going to change it for the worse anyway; they’d already proven so.

Yes, what she was saying didn’t help, but think about the awful, awful Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

When promoting the film, Shia LaBeouf suggested Spielberg “dropped the ball” when making the movie.

This caused an enormous uproar in Hollywood, with Harrison Ford going on the record as saying he told Shia he was a “f**king idiot.”

Harrison also said something along the lines of, “Sometimes you have to just shut up and sell the product.”

Is that what you want? Someone going on talk shows, smiling and waving like a prom queen on a homecoming float, knowing their product is garbage?

In my eyes, at least Rachel was being honest.

Like I say in the video, the most hilarious aspect to this is the producer’s kid, Jonah Platt, going around and blaming Zegler for the movie bombing.

Dude, you had a horrible product.

Unwatchable.

All your dad, the producer, had to do, was say, “We have the original template right here. Let’s do a shot-by-shot live action remake, and call it even.”

He didn’t do that.

He allowed everything awful that happened, to happen.

The fact Zegler is a bit of a nitwit doesn’t change that.

And, again, as said in the video: everyone is stupid in their twenties.

Everyone.

If Disney didn’t give Zegler a coach/handler, then that’s on Disney.
