U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday (April 4) the United States will know in a matter of weeks, not months, if Russia is serious about peace with Ukraine. Speaking at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, Rubio said that if Russia is not serious about peace, the United States would have to "reevaluate where it stands." Rubio also told press the United States was "as involved in NATO today as ever." On Greenland, Rubio said President Trump had not ruled out military action if the Danish territory were encroached upon by rival powers like China or Russia, but that the U.S. would respect the self-determination of Greenlanders. Amidst global market turmoil in the wake of President Trump's tariff announcement, Rubio said it was not fair to say economies were crashing and that markets were reacting to a "dramatic change in the global order."
