Avi helping clear trail 3 April 2025

This short video shows one time Avi lent her strength to make trail obstruction clearing possible - where it would have taken longer or been impossible without her strength.

Attempting to do this without FIRST training your horse to do it AND ensuring you also are trained in how to safely dally would be foolish. Many folks have lost a thumb dallying wrong. Learn how FIRST - train your horse FIRST.

So note that I start off by making a "test the weight" backing up pull. I am testing to ensure I judged aright that Avi can easily pull this section of log that I myself cannot pull. Then I un-dally - keep the rope from getting tangled in her legs - while using lateral movements I position her to make the forward pull in the slot in between trees I had previously chosen. I dally up and ask her to walk off pulling the load. When we are very nearly done I do what as a header in team roping is called "facing up" which means you do a pass around the forehand - moving the horses hip around so that the rope stays taut during that movement. I then see that the log could stand to be a bit further off the trail and back Avi up a short ways to get the end of the log further off the trail.

Remember to intentionally, on purpose, learn of God each day by prayerfully reading, studying, and pondering upon God's word each day. Talk to God in prayer as your Heavenly Father who would like for you to be His friend. Find out what He would like you to do for Him as His friend and go and do it for Him as His friend. Yes very intentionally, very much on purpose, become the friend of God. And have a blessed day!!
