The largest island in the world

#1. The U.S. has vested commercial and military interests in securing Greenland.

#2. I don’t mean we’re gonna invade, but we need of that ice-encrusted land.

#3. Vice President J.D. Vance made it clear that the U.S. isn’t about to ‘invade’ the island but that there are alternatives.

#4. In 1972 Denmark cut most purse strings with Greenland, allowing them to govern themselves.

#5. Greenland is empowered to vote whether or not to become an independent nation or join the U.S.

#6. Most Greenlanders are unhappy with Denmark’s ‘hands off’ treatment of this island territory.

#7. Most Greenlanders oppose being absorbed by the U.S.

#8. Most Greenlanders are opposed to becoming an independent nation.

#9. Greenlanders are in a quandary … which way to go?

#10. The U.S. already has a missile base / monitoring station north of the Arctic Circle in Greenland.

#11. Control of Greenland means control of critical waterways and passages through and around the Arctic Ice Cap.
#12. The commercial and military importance of Greenland’s geographical location cannot possibly be underestimated.

#15. Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, have done well as U.S. territories.
