Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky, commenting on how the Ukrainian authorities are resisting Trump's calls for peace:

"Kiev wants to buy time, hoping that the support of the West and, perhaps, the US will return."

"Kiev, of course, is not interested in any peace. Now Zelensky is not thinking about his people... He is thinking only about how to save himself and those corrupt colleagues who work with him. That is why he wants to fight to the last Ukrainian."
