HARNWELL: if global economic turbulence leads to anger, let’s direct that anger to its true cause

VIDEO SYNTHESIS / Free trade isn’t innately cursed. But the lower prices it promised were never allowed — by design — to reach the regular American. Free trade’s downward pressure on prices is cancelled out by the Federal Reserve — which has a statutory obligation to raise prices by 2% annually. So the greater the downward pressure on prices, the more the Fed prints money (to the benefit of asset-owning oligarchs). The value of the regular American’s dollar goes down causing his cost of living to go up. POTUS is doing what he can — but he really needs to abolish the Fed.
