The layout and design are inspired by French boulevards, especially the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Flanked by large trees, it features a median strip and numerous roundabouts. Beautiful mansions and palaces belonging to wealthy figures from 19th-century Yucatán were built on both sides of this avenue.
