When Larry Sanger was a teenager, he reached out to a pastor with sincere questions. But instead of engaging thoughtfully, the pastor dismissed him.

Sanger said that this interaction was unfortunate because he truly wanted answers, and the pastor was not prepared to give them. This experience contributed to his skepticism.
