BACKLASH for Nintendo Over NEW Mario Kart Price on the Switch 2

Nintendo caused a stir online after it was revealed physical copies of Mario Kart World will cost $90 and digital copies will be $80.

Many worry this price increase will embolden other AAA studios to begin charging more for games which could exacerbate the collapse of the AAA industry. Back in January some were speculating Grand Theft Auto VI will retail for $100 which worried many into thinking this will be the beginning of other studios following suite. While Nintendo may sell Mario Kart World well because it’s a popular franchise, if other studios, or even Nintendo, thinks they can charge that for any new title then they are in for a rude awakening.
