A Political Threat to the Left Liberal Elite

The reason for Europe's intention to continue the Ukraine war, and failing continued war in Ukraine, a cold war against Russia and a diplomatic break with the US.

Attempts to achieve grass roots European Peace and Unity was likely a main focus used for the creation of the set of EU liberal values.
The over-sensitivity of the German nation to the possibility of right wing militaristic nationalism seems to have influenced the EU form of liberal governance and censorship. Not that I support extreme right wing militaristic nationalism. Although I note that Merz, the German Chancellor, is suggesting rearming Germany, and evidently seeks to achieve popular public electoral support within Germany, and also to militarize without any dissent throughout Europe.
It reminds me of the saying something like, "through fighting a threat, we created the monster we were trying to protect ourselves from." In this case, the monsters would be a militaristic Germany, and a militarized Russia.
The EU politicians believe unity and long term peace can only be achieved by liberal internationalism and solidarity to a predefined set of values (not unlike Judaic law, which is ineffective in achieving its faultless goal).
In my opinion Vladimir Putin, of whatever moral values he may or may not have, is someone who is disciplined, a lawyer, keeps agreements, and is willing to negotiate peace/security agreements if it is mutually advantageous.
I have no confidence that the next President of Russia would do the same, or for that matter, the next president of the US.
The window of peace is still a faint possibility. Russia can really turn to the east. I remember this from Siberia some years ago thinking, we don't want Russia to leave, they really can reject Europe.
Russia offered us the hand of friendship, and we turned our backs on them. Is Russia the easiest country to get along with? Possibly not, but we should still try.
Neutrality is the process of not getting involved in other people's arguments. Peace making is seeking to stop arguments, and is like neutrality, an active position.
