Ken and James Collier investigated how Dade County tallied the vote in 1982 election.

Key findings:
- League of Women Voters members were observed punching holes in ballots
- Printomatic BMX devices were used to count the votes on punch card ballots
- Printomatic was manufactured by Sequoia Pacific based in New York at the time
- Only 1 BMX device was actively counting votes despite numerous devices being present in the facility
- BMX operator was operating unsupervised
- BMX operator removed one of the ballot cards indicating a violation of federal election law
- Investigators were escorted out of the voting center by security and prevented from observing the vote tally process
