What My Role As A State Board Member Taught Me - Kendra Wesson

When Kendra Wesson was appointed to the Oklahoma State School Board by Governor Stitt, she was excited at beginning her new role. Because Kendra is who she is, she read every agenda, studied every issue, took time outside of Board meetings to connect with the public school community and truly enjoyed her job - believing it to have purpose.

Then she was fired by Governor Stitt who claimed in a press release that she - and two other members - were fired because of 'political drama' and poor National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) scores.

To us at ROPE Report, this seemed like a slap in the face by the governor and a lack of appreciation for her service in spades.

Today, she will talk to us about what she learned from her position and the 'political drama' she was thrust into for no reasons of her own.
