Amaya Reviews Disney's Folly- Snow White 2025

Spoiler alert-it's terrible

I confess that I had recorded a clip to go at the beginning of this to try and address some of the negativity around this film. I don't really want to rag on Zegler. Regardless of what she said, I thought to myself that she's in her early 20s, this debacle is probably going to kill her career, and one day she's going to be 40-something, working whatever job, and every so often, someone will walk up to her and say, snarkily, "That's Hollywood, baby".

Such is the way of the court of public opinion. Moreover, her comments may have also come from some behind the scenes making this film. For all we know, she was echoing back the negative view of the film that the filmmakers had (we may recall that for TLJ there were behind the scenes shots of Luke Skywalker's face on posters X'ed out with red paint/ink). Since no one at Disney seems to have made a concerted effort to stop Zegler until quite recently, I can't help but feel that the studio may have agreed with her initially.

Additionally, I know that people worked hard on this film. It is shame, given the final product is so..................as expected, and so, I think I may have been a little cruel in some of my criticisms. Regardless, I hope you enjoy this review. I didn't do too much script doctoring, though I certainly could have. Part of the reason I avoided it was the video was plenty long, and I already decided partway through filming that it was not worth my time to spend this much effort on this film.

...although who knows. I DO like script doctoring, and have come up with costume designs which I think would have worked better
