scraping, sanding and finishing .22 Stevens model 55 rifle stock

trying to make this old rifle stock look better, this gun was made in the mid 1930's, I like older guns and like to make them as good looking as I can, I use Tru-Oil as a finishing coat, I have used it a lot and it usually looks fairly nice.
