Five Democrat Senators took a trip to Guantanamo Bay to protest the detention of members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua – who were picked up by ICE and shipped to Gitmo to be held until they are deported.

The senators are:

Jack Reed (D-RI)

Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)

Gary Peters (D-MI)

Alex Padilla (D-CA)

Self-proclaimed Independent Angus King (Maine)

This visit follows months of Democrat's complaining over the use of Guantanamo Bay to detain illegal migrant criminals with ties to international terrorist organizations like Tren de Aragua.

Rep. Maxine Dexter (D-OR) claims the facility "is known for its human rights abuses and its use to house immigrants is fundamentally wrong,”

Dexter also claims that President Trump is using GITMO and deporting illegal migrant criminals for political gain. The comments come even though President Trump campaigned on mass deportation and making America Safe again which scored him the landslide victory in November winning both the electoral vote and the popular vote.

Dexter has said she will lead the Democrats into taking action.

The Democrat demands include:

An immediate halt to transfers of immigrants to Guantanamo Bay.

A detailed report on past or prospective transfers to the facility.

Access to counsel for any past present, or prospective detainee.

A full accounting of government expenditures related to this detention program.
