Seeking Recognition: Republika Srpska - SUBTITLES

Republika Srpska declared its independence back in 1992 in response to the withdrawal of Bosnian Muslims from Yugoslavia. Then a terrible civil war broke out in the Balkans with fierce fighting and ethnic cleansing. More than a hundred thousand people fell victims to that war. The consequences of this conflict are still felt today. The border between the Serbian and Bosnian regions divided the settlements into irreconcilable parts. Republika Srpska’s residents believe that Western double standards make them the scapegoats for that devastating conflict and keep them in limbo, denying them the right for self-determination.
