Living the Covenant: Our Identity in Christ

Saint Paul’s allegory contrasts the Old Covenant of law and slavery with the New Covenant of freedom through Christ. The Old Covenant, given at Mount Sinai, represents external laws, while the New Covenant, established in Jerusalem, embodies interior transformation through Jesus. Fulfilled in the Eucharist, this covenant unites believers directly with Christ. Recognizing their divine identity and participation in heavenly Jerusalem, Christians can live joyfully as God’s children.
