McQueen and Tokai do some running on the beach as Trainer observes them. When they're finished they take a rest and Tokai tells McQueen that it's ok that she doesn't run at her pace. To that McQueen smiles and agrees to do it and asks Trainer to do a bit of independent training herself for preparation for the Fall Tennoushou. So, Tokai suggests that they go for a swim and although McQueen is hesitant to do so, Tokai insists they do.

Palmer and Helios go to Matikanefukukitaru's fortune teller's tent and find that it's empty. A note left behind states that Palmer no longer needs her guidance and has moved to a new location with Meisho. Tearfully the two thank Mati for her fortunes and vows to live up to her expectations. However to their surprise the fortune tellers have started to set up shop just outside of the school gate.

The day of the Kikkashou arrives and Team Spica minus McQueen who was continuing her training, watch the race from the audience. Out of all of the racers, Biwa, Taishin, and Ticket are the top 3 contenders of the race. Meanwhile, McQueen does some practice laps in the racetrack in the back of her mansion. Back to the Kikkashou race, Biwa wins it and breaks the record previously held by Rice. At the start of dusk, McQueen finishes her practice laps and requests her butler summon the family doctor, so he could examine something. The members of Team Spica enjoy a foodie-thon with Spe leading the pack and Tokai looks at something to buy for McQueen, whom was being examined by her family doctor at the time. McQueen's family doctor suggests that she rest for a while until he get a conclusive diagnosis and later informs that McQueen's grandmother wishes to speak with her.

Eventually, Tokai learns that the present she got McQueen expires that day so, she rushes off to deliver it to her. At McQueen's mansion, Tokai runs into her butler who informs her of the terrible news. Apparently McQueen has developed suspensory ligament desmitis in her left leg. Because of how much pain inflicts the user when you apply pressure to the area, she may never be able to race again. Just then the butler gets a call and is notified that McQueen is missing and Tokai then runs off to find her. McQueen who was at the school racetrack, was trying to run around the track and reflects on her Grandmother telling her to quit racing for her own good. To that notion she vehemently refuses, claiming she'll run again one day, although there is no cure or treatment for her case. Soon, Tokai finds McQueen and the two have a heart to heart with each other, where McQueen states her resolve to stay strong for the day Tokai makes her comeback. However, when her left leg finally won't move anymore, and as McQueen cries out loud, Tokai notes the cruelty of fate. How it always finds a way to drive a wedge in between them from ever trying to race again. Reciprocating with McQueen's situation, by explaining her own trials and tribulations that she went through with her own injuries. On the other hand, McQueen states that her situation is different, only if a miracle would occur that she'd be able to run again. Therefore, Tokai promises to McQueen that she'll race in the Arima Kinen and win it for her.

As Tokai leaves the area, McQueen's servants arrive and tend to her.
