DIY CD Platen for Screen Printing - Easy, Low-Cost, No Power Tools Required

This DIY CD platen for screen printing is made from 50-point chipboard, just barely taller than a CD. The center is marked and a CD is placed in the center, traced, and carefully cut out with an X-Acto knife. Two thumbs are cut on the side to easily pull the CD out. The chipboard is then glued to 1/8 inch MDF using Mod Podge for added support, with another MDF board placed on top and weighted down with art supplies as the glue dries. This platen ensures the CD stays in place during printing, preventing any movement.

Each CD platen costs around $4 to make, with no power tools required, making it an affordable and easy DIY solution.
