Brian Norman Delivers Career Defining Knockout: Mikaela Mayer Dominates Sandy Ryan

Mikaela Mayer put on a boxing clinic Saturday night in Las Vegas against Sandy Ryan. This was the rematch from the first fight back in September 2024. Mikaela went to work like a doctor.

She showed great footwork and poise, worked the jab, changed levels, and banged to the body when needed. Mikaela started fast and set the tone early. Sandy started out slow and allowed Mikaela to dictate the pace.

Sandy came on strong in the 7th, 8th & 9th round, however, Mikaela closed the show strong in the 10th to win a unanimous decision victory over Sandy Ryan. We'll see what's next for Mikaela later on this year.

The co-main event between Brian Norman Jr & Derrieck Cuevas was a good one. Brian Norman started slow in what appeared to be a trap fight for Norman.

He got caught with a left hook to the jaw that rocked him in the 1st round. However, in the second round, B Norman went to work. Changing levels with his jab and keeping his defense tight during exchanges.

Brian Norman landed a beautiful left hook, right cross, straight left combination that sealed the deal, putting Cuevas on his back. Cuevas beat the count, but he was unable to continue after failing to heed the ref's instructions.

It was obvious Cuevas had no desire to continue after suffering such a devastating TKO in the 3rd. After the fight, Brian Norman Jr called out Jaron Boots Ennis. Hopefully, we'll get a unification match with Boots after the Ennis vs Stantionis fight.

On the DAZN card, William Zepeda won a majority decision victory over Tevin Farmer in the rematch. William Zepeda went to work early and often in the fight.

However, in the second half of the fight, Tevin Farmer landed some clean hooks and uppercuts. Defensively, Famer looked poised and slipped shots at will. Zepeda was the more active fighter, throwing punches in bunches.

In the 12th round, Tevin Farmer scored a clean knockdown, but the referee waved it off, saying it was a slip. This is the 2nd time in 4 weeks that a referee made a terrible decision in a big fight.
